Whats the diff between the two? Which is “better”?

BU has like 16,000 students
BC 9,000
BU runs like 2 miles down comm ave.
BC is a traditional campus with VERY nice old gothic buildings.
BC is ranked higher and more difficult to get into.
BC has football and basketball, not just hockey.
BC is jesuit catholic and has a liberal arts core.
BC has school spirit (superfan)
BU has kids staying in hotels because of housing shortages.
BU is a city campus.
BC is nestled in a the safest college town Chestnut Hill/Newton but still is connected to the city (streetcar/subway)

BC is pretty much amazing. I'm just slightly biased.

I can tell. I'm more of a city boy.

BC is still very much a part of Boston. It just isn't in the middle of the city. I love the city too and I think BC is in a very good location just outside the city. It is there whenever you want. Have you gone to visit??? It'll give you a good idea of each and you can see which feels right.

BC is a 10-15 minute train ride outside of Boston, so Boston is accessible from Boston College. Not sure about students at BU, but there are anywhere from 15k to 20k students at BC (this includes under grad and grad students) and around 10k for undergrad students. The BC campus is just spectacular and I feel at peace while on campus. I'm also heavily biased towards BC, maybe because I'll be attending BC in the fall. Good Luck with your college applications.

On a side note, hey Scott, see that you're back in Tampa. Good ice cream and go Bucs =P

There is no better of worse between the two schools. I like to give BU the occasional low-blow here and there (just because it's BU), but in all honesty, it's a wonderful school. Its set of virtues are not those BC students coveted--urban setting, larger student body (but doesn't mean larger class sizes), and a general perception of grade deflation (whether it's true or not, I don't know). My recommendation is go and visit both schools, take notes during your visit and see what your gut instinct tells you. Any list of comparison from anyone on the BU-BC forums is bound to be biase, so visit and experience the real deal.

I believe the total enrollment at BC is 14,500.

And, Scotty, BC is Jesuit -- adding "catholic" is redundant.

9000 undergraduate students and about 5500 graduate students, which the vast majority of them are not living on campus. So you'll be living with undergrad for your four years here.
