Difference between blue book and current SAT's

Long time lurker, first post.

So after wondering on CC for 1 year+ and running out of practice materials (after my recent, not so good test), I've decided to buy the Blue book. I just want to ask a quick question before I throw away $10 more to college board; how does the 8 original tests from 2005 compare with the actual blue book? Because it seems to me that recent administrations of the test, (e.g. Jan 2010 and Mar. 2010) have become harder as well as having a harsh curve. How do the original blue book tests compare to them?

On a side note, I'd like to thank the CC community. Though I haven't contributed a single post til today, I've learned a lot by surfing through the results threads of the SAT administrations, the RD and ED threads, and all the help that is available in the forum; they have truly improved my knowledge of the application process in general and the sAT in particular (in fact, you guys are my only source, as I live in Canada where the GC is next to useless when applying to US schools!). Thanks!

I feel a little shameless but… BUMP.

Another BUMP.

The new Blue Book has 7 tests from the previous edition of the Blue Book. The practice tests from the Blue Book are comparable to the actual administered exams. The SAT is a standardized test, so you shouldn’t expect curves to get harder and harder.

Thanks but I have another question: The 7 original tests are “New” (e.g. post-2005) SAT’s right? Cause I don’t want to wade through quantitative comparisons lol.

Yes.
