Hi, I'm a prospective UM student. Visited yesterday and absolutely love it! I plan to major in economics and do a premed track. I'm also quite interested in the medical scholar's program. What are the differences between these majors and which do you think would be best for a premed track and getting into the medical scholar's program?

In looking at the course bulletin/degree requirements which you can find here [Academic Bulletin | University of Miami](http://www.miami.edu/index.php/academicbulletin/) the requirements for Bus. School and A&S School seem to be the same. I would consider a degree from Bus. School to be more marketable than one granted from The A&S School, but the actually requirements look to be the same. To be sure just call the admissions office, they are very friendly and helpful. Good luck!

Thanks, I did see online that the basic courses were the same and I wasn’t too sure. Maybe you take more general business classes because you can earn a BBA/BSBA, as opposed to a BA/BS. I would also agree that a degree from the Business School would be more applicable to a job and thus more marketable.

I’ll call them if I get accepted when I’m narrowing down my choices.
