What is the difference between not ranking and choosing regular decision through QB versus ranking, not matching, and having your application move automatically to regular decision. Other than going for the chance of matching, what is the difference/advantage to either? I think I have slim chances of matching but should I try anyway and have it moved to regular if I don’t match or go for just regular decision before even ranking?
It shouldn’t hurt anything to go for as many matches as you are comfortable with. Just don’t list a school that you don’t want a binding full ride to.
Your regular decision, if it comes down to that, will be evaluated in the context of the RD pool, while the match decision may be looked in the context of the ED pool. It shouldn’t hurt your RD chances.
