I'm confused about this:

"Automatic Regular Decision Consideration: Please note that students who have ranked and completed the required materials for the University of Chicago, Columbia University, the University of Pennsylvania, Princeton University, Stanford University, and/or Yale University will automatically be considered for Regular Decision. There is no need to contact their admissions offices. If you have ranked and submitted your materials to any of those colleges but do not wish to be considered for Regular Decision, you will need to contact the appropriate admissions offices to withdraw your application."

For Finalists - Ranked Stanford for College Match

"Can I use my QuestBridge application in lieu of your regular application?"

"No. Use the Common App with Stanford Supplement. Please include your Common Application ID number on all forms."

It means that Stanford will consider you as a candidate for Regular Decision, but you still need to submit the Common App and supplement. In other words, they know you’re a QuestBridge finalist so they will 1.) waive your application fee and 2.) take note that you will be applying to the university, but you still need to complete the requirements.

so will they discard the QB app, or use it as a supplement? If its the latter, then could I still edit the QB app and send the edited version?

If I skip the match program, how will RD be different in terms of the common app and QB app?

Thanks

Yes, they’ll use your QB app as a supplement but you can’t edit it.

What do you mean if you skip the match program? As in if you’ve never applied to QB? If so, they just won’t know you’re a QuestBridge finalist, that you’re a “high-achieving” and “generally poor” student.

Im pretty sure you can apply to QB, and become a finalist, but not do the match program.

^ correct, you do not have to list any schools to be matched to.

Stanford does not want your QB app. Did you already forward it to them? They likely will not use it in their consideration.

You cannot edit the QB app, as there is no way for you to send the app directly. It comes only from QB, and only if you “matched” or forwarded by 12/15.

ok so just to be clear, lets say i do the national match program and I rank stanford, yale, princeton, and MIT. lets say I don’t get matched and I apply RD to all these schools. Will they completely disregard my previous application and treat me like a new applicant and only consider my common app? Thank you.

And what exactly do you mean by forwarding your QB app to them by 12/15? I thought they only want your common app? So its a supplement or…

You don’t have to forward your QB app, but you can if you want them to use it as a supplement. I have no idea whether SYPMIT will use it or not, but why not forward it to them anyways? It would help you stand out among the thousands of applicants who didn’t participate in QuestBridge.

As to the question before that, I can’t give you an honest answer because I have no clue.

The note in the OP means:
If you ranked those schools for the match, then you must have filled the Common App because those schools require it. Therefore you do not need to fill it out again for Regular Decision.
This is only for finalists.

^for the match program u fill out the common app and the QB app? Your comment just confused me haha… sorry

^ You are worrying about all this a year too early. It would be better to wait and ask the questions once you’ve become a finalist.

Some of the schools you listed require you to fill out the common app and supplement to be matched. Some only use your QB app for the match and for RD. Each school does their own thing and this information can be found on the QB site by checking each school you are interested in applying to.

You will not be able to change any of your applications that you submitted for match. You will only be able to send in appropriate “mid year” updates (new honors, grades, etc… not edited essays).
