I've been accepted into and will be attending Cornell University next fall under the early decision plan. My major is currently down as Government (in the college of Arts and Sciences), but I had some thoughts about applying to the ILR school, I ultimately chose not to because I lacked the math scores/math SAT II's, and didn't want to risk not getting in over something that stupid. My interviewer told me that Government majors end up taking many courses within the ILR school anyway, in response to my mention of being able to change schools/majors.

My question is, in terms of prestige and job opportunities/salary potential what would the benefit of switching to ILR be, and what can I get out of each major government/ILR as far as jobs go.
