I was wondering what differences you all think there are between transfer students and students who go directly to a four year from high school. Differences as in personality, looks, gender, race etc. Just curious!

I'm guessing us transfer students might have had a little more fun in high school? Maybe matured a little late? haha

I’m surprised you skipped the predictable ones like ‘smartness’ and ‘financial backgrounds.’

But anyway,

Personality - 100% low-budget party animals; the freshmen can afford better quality drugs, especially the scarce and expensive underground ones.
Looks - CC transfers don’t look as good as incoming freshmen because they don’t have enough money for grooming/beauty products. They also don’t get to shower as often (no towels).
Gender - though there are statistics available, they’re misleading; CC transfers are overwhelmingly females.
Race - Aryan invasion targeting especially all Asians. Flee immediately.

Why would you ask about looks/gender? Come on Dallas, that’s a lol right there. Also, personality differences would be difficult to assess…

I personally didn’t really like high school all too much, but I went to community college because I was indecisive about my major.
And it saved my parents a whole lot of money.

i feel that transfers will be more serious about their classes once they actually get there. i know that if i went into a 4 year straight out of high school, my senioritis wouldve still been in tact. i know people who are still suffering from senioritis as freshmen. all the transfers i’ve met have worked hard to get to a 4 year and won’t be slacking off once they get there.

“Transfers didn’t do **** in HS but generally put effort into college
Freshment generally put effort into HS, but didn’t do **** in college”

I find this to be totally wrong, at least in my case. I graduated high school with a 4.2 and with honors. To answer your question janethedoe, I think perhaps transfers are more decisive, as they have had time to put things into perspective. Although it’s only been two years that I’ve been out of high school I feel I’ve matured a looot and in general, I think we understand that you can’t always get what you want. idk about looks or race…don’t see why there would be a difference.

oops! i’m sorry! I don’t know why I thought janethedoe was the original poster. I meant to answer your question, Dallas1.

sandaboy–as did I. I had a good gpa, tons of AP courses, and yet only got accepted into Davis and Cal Poly Pomona. (To be fair I only applied there, LA, and Berkeley). So I decided to go to a cc, try again, and now I have been accepted to UCLA!! :)
