Hi, everyone, this is my first post!

I'm here to ask for some of your opinions, because i'm really not sure what to do....

I just moved to a different country, I'm starting Junior year now at this big international school here, got all my schedule and stuff, and now comes the problem:

I'm taking a total of 3 APs this year: IBHL/AP English 1, AP Computer Sci 1, and AP US History...
2 Honors: IBHL/Honors Precalculus, Honors Chemistry
2 Foreign languages: IBSL Spanish 5 and Mandarin WR2

For ECs, I just joined 2-3 clubs, mostly computer clubs... and I'm doing Varsity Soccer... which is sucking time and energy out of me.
The soccer season will be over in 5 weeks, but during this time, I'll get home at 8:30 PM everyday, exhausted, and not have enough time to do all the homework, and very little time to study...

I was thinking of dropping IBSL Spanish 5 or AP US History (the heaviest of all, most reading and homework)
Spanish 5, Honors Precalc, and Honors Chem will all lead into APs next year... So next year I would have a total of 5 APs...
Should I drop AP US History, IBSL Spanish, or Mandarin? OR EVEN QUIT Soccer,
OR SHOULD I suck it up and suffer for 5 more weeks??! which will definitely hurt my grades... Does varsity soccer help a lot in terms of EC ? There'll be lots of international tournaments during these 5 weeks

Knowing how absolutely fanatic most other countries are about soccer, I'd think that being on another country's h.s. varsity team would be a wonderful experience that would give you a great inside look at another country's culture. If you're enjoying that experience, my suggestion is to stick with it. Getting to do international tournaments also sounds like a lot of fun. It also sounds like a wonderful way to make friends.

If you're hating soccer, then don't bother with it because it's not worth it to stick with an EC you don't like in order to impress colleges. No matter what the EC is, if you've done it by gritting your teeth, your accomplishments won't impress any college.

If you're liking soccer, though,it would be worth it to stay with it and enjoy all of the opportunities that you're getting with it. Your having to be super organized, etc., to balance schoolwork and soccer also is an experience that would impress colleges and lead to a nice essay and interview that would go beyond the cliche, "I lived in another country and learned that people are people."

If you have to drop something, drop the other clubs for now because it doesn't look like you have time for them. You can do them after soccer season.

I also think that as long as you're able to get relatively decent grades, after soccer season, if you buckle down, you should be able to bring your grades up to whatever your potential is.

True, the funny thing is that I'm from Brazil, and now I just moved to Taipei, Taiwan... And I'm amazed at the opportunities that we have by being in the varsity soccer team... international trips, tournaments, etc... More importantly, the team bonding is what makes it worthwhile. There's no doubt about my love for soccer hahaha... although it's exhausting as HELL

Now you brought up an interesting point, the managing of time which can lead to a good essay...
The thing is, for now, even my counselor said "You don't even have time to manage!" The club meetings haven't even started yet, and the chapter tests etc haven't started also....
I can't even imagine how overwhelming that's gonna be...

TAS? where my home town is!
I have a few friends there hehe
