at my school people always complain about honors pre calc …im an Ok math student but I’m like really nervous because I need a b or above to move to calculus… but like is honors pre calc really that hard?
I think a lot of it depends on the quality of the teacher. Honors pre-calc isn’t easy, but it’s definitely doable. I actually thought AP Calculus BC was harder at my school, but a lot of my friends thought the exact opposite. It really depends on the person. I would advise getting help from the teacher as often as you can, even if that means going before or after school. Try your hardest in the class and get help before it’s too late.
@Versace17 If you did well in algebra II, pre-calculus shouldn’t be too difficult.
However, we don’t know the difficulty of classes at your school. You should ask the teacher for his/her recommendation, or ask students who don’t complain that the class is too hard merely because they got a C on a test.
A lot depends on the teacher but both my kids thought the biggest success factor is keeping up with the homework.
My was excellent in algebra and geometry and could blow of the homework and ace the exams, not the case in pre-calc. My D has had to work harder in math so she has a good homework routine. She just worked a little harder than she did in Algebra II and did fine.
Also there are a lot of on-line sources including Khan Academy if you cannot get the extra help you need from your teacher.
I took honors pre-calc last year and it was my easiest core class. It was just a teensy bit harder than Algebra II.
