Difficulty level of the Jan SAT

I thought the January SAT was about as hard as the ones in the blue book. You can’t really worry about whether or not people thought the January SAT was challenging. When you go in to take the actual SAT on test day, you shouldn’t be stressing about whether or not it’s going to be harder than what you’re familiar with. The blue book was good preparation for the SAT. Don’t let what everyone’s saying worry you too much. You don’t want to perform poorly on the SAT just because you were nervous and psyched yourself out.

I personally did much worse on the January test than I did on my practice (BB) tests.
I want to see what the curve looks like.

The math curve was HORRIBLE. Since when is -1 a 760???

/rage

Sent from my SGH-T959V using CC

The math section was probably one of the easiest math sections ever… 800 760 740 720. Faq.

No surprise that they shafted the careless ones.

^ yeah as long as math and even writing go well, the test should go by smoothly. But dang 1 careless mistake equates to a 760? Thats pretty absurd.

Although I made a 760 and I remember making one careless mistake, I did see a couple of people who made 790s.

What the…

I got a 560 on this exam’s CR.

I just took a practice BB test and got a 660 CR…

Same thing with writing. Got a 610 on Jan and just got a 670 in the BB test I just took.

Either this test was strangely impossible or there’s something wrong with me.

Like me :(.

when is the QAS for this test coming out?

Math was the easiest ever, i usually get 760’s and i got an 800 with 10 min over on each section.
Writing was harder than usual, but was able to work through it.
Reading on the other hand… Some really weird passages (Photography especially). Hard reading and writing IMO

People above refer to scores they got on QAS. What is this-another source of practice tests? Where is it provided?

I thought one of the reading passages was med-hard and the other two were easy. I usually got 700-750 on practices but I got an 800 this time. The writing was a tiny bit harder than average.

I thought CR was easy but then I got a 750, a bit lower than I expected, so it might have been a little tricky. Math wasn’t terrible, therefore the curve was (most likely) brutal. Writing wasn’t bad at all though I’ve never seen anything like the imminent/eminent diction question before. The rest was very very straightforward.

QAS really are the best and only official resources other than bb and online course.

I happened to stumble across 15 of them lol

So based off your Jan expiriences, do you guys have any tips? Any concepts for math or grammar rules for writing that I should look over?

Eagles, I’m very intrigued…details?

Because I’m not liking Barron’s sat prep

cant post links on here. pm me if you want them.

If someone receives the QAS, could they please post the answers to the following questions:

2 Bloggers: Private stranger is accurate description/intrusion

Quackery…forestall vs. humbuggery…elude

Qualify a statement/explain an assertion

Trade/Neighboring villages

Self-effacing blogger (don’t remember question)

Methodology/Philosophy

Thanks a bunch! I’m trying to find out which extra one I missed.
