Difficulty level of the Jan SAT

I just wanted to know what the difficulty level was for the jan test compared to past tests like the ones in the blue book. Although ive been taking practice tests, they are from a few years back and just want to know if there are any slight changes in the most recent one. So yeah, how difficult did you find it.

For me, the math was mostly easy with a couple of tricky questions. The writing was slightly harder than average. To me, the critical reading section was just weird. I usually scored 750+ on the BB tests, but I made a 680 on the Jan test. Might have been nerves, because yesterday I took a QAS test and made a 790 on the CR.

Haha thats exactly whats concerning me. Tricky and writing questions coupled with weird reading passages. It feels as if the past tests are no longer very useful if the most recent tests add new surprises. But I will still try to head in with full confidence in march.

Usually I get ~700 on Reading, but only got 660 on the January test. Also I usually get around 750 in writing, but I only got a 710 this time with a 10 essay.

^ Now im really getting concerned lol! Was it really that difficult?

I thought the Math was pretty difficult. The Writing was on par with normal tests I took. The Critical Reading section was harder than normal.

It wasn’t more that much more difficult or easy than the BB or QASs for me. My score range on QASs right before the Jan. SAT ranged from a low of 2200-something to a 2390. I ended up with a 2300.

i usually score around a 2250 on bbs and qas but got a 1960 from both nerves and a hard test. cr was incredibly difficult math was okay and writing was a little harder than normal

I thought the Math was okay.
Writing was harder than usual, but nothing crazy.
CR was death

I usually get 2000-2100 on blue book, but this time got a 1900 on the actual thing

Reading I thought wasn’t bad, but was below my averages. Math I made alot of careless mistakes, writing I usually score 750+ but didn’t come close this time.

I had a completely different experience than most on this thread. I usally score 650-710 on practice tests for CR but got a 750 on the Jan test. Math was easy as a whole but some questions were very tricky and the curve was extremely harsh. Writing was pretty easy IMO, but did a little worse than I usually do (730).

Now im worried lol. Ive only been getting 1 to 2 wrong on cr & writing this past week. But it looks like I shouldn’t be that optomistic.

Anyways were there like new kinds of questions on the writing and cr. What kind of questions tripped you guys up?

Thought it was difficult, dropped 100 points :(

The writing felt really familiar … you can’t go wrong after practicing with 3000+ old writing questions ;).

And where did you get those questions from? :o

Thanks Ice. Im just over thinking it. Your right, Ive been exposed to these questions already. Just have to smoothly and calmy take the test as if its a practice test.

@yankee

lol what questions?

IceQube’s 3000 writing questions

they were from past qas and sat online course tests. Maybe not 3000 but still a boatload of questions.
