This is just out of curiosity, but how difficult would you say the AP English class is at your school.

The reason I ask is that the AP English class I am taking seems absolutely ridiculous where my teacher told me the average grade last year was like a 71% or something (and these were some pretty smart kids taking it).

He said it's a college level course and that he is on par with the CB standards, but as far as I'm concerned, I could just self-study it and get a 5 without having to sacrifice my GPA on this junk.

I'm all for difficult classes, but at least keep it legit enough that it's possible to get an A...

How hard is your AP English class? You think I should I drop this class or what?

At my school i’ve heard that it’s very hard. I got into AP english lit but declined due to a very strict teacher. It really depends on the teacher I hear, but overall both AP English classes (lit and writing) are very hard. You’re teacher prob makes it harder tho.

Ours is really hard. Our summer reading project was a 24 page essay. And it’s only a couple weeks in and we already has a research project and we have to have a book read every month with essays every week and he have weekly debates. Our teacher is a *****

I’ve heard our ap lang class is fairly easy. My sister ended with a 97, and she’s really not an english person, so I hope I’ll end up with something like that too. My English teacher is so awesome. I love the class.

^Wow your sister must have had a really easy teacher if she managed to end with a 97. Even the smartest kids in my class barely scraped by with an A-

Very rigorous, but English is difficult at my school in general, so underclassman English and Writing Workshop [a required sophomore year class] prepare you for AP English well.

Ours is extremely hard.
The teacher teaches AP Lang., AP Lit, English II GT, and English I GT.
She is a good teacher but she doesn’t give you any slack. In English I GT, I turned in an essay that would easily be an A in Pre-AP but I received a 64 F. The whole class was ridiculous.
