Hello! Next year I am planning to take 6 AP classes, but I want a popular consensus on the difficulty of the courses. Can someone please post prep book suggestions when it comes for the AP exams. Thank You!

AP Psychology
AP Calculus AB
AP Physics B
AP English Literature
AP European History
AP Bio

There are like 10 different book suggestion threads as well as “tips to succeed in AP Classes” for each subject.

For Psych, Barron’s seems to be the best (I’m taking it next year, and based off of posts here at CC, I’ve decided I’m going to use Barron’s).

For Bio, Cliff’s is hands-down the best choice. It is the AP Bio Bible. Read it before the exam (from front-to-back) and you’ll get a 5.

The difficulty of the courses varies by school, so it’s really difficult for someone on CC to tell you. The difficulty of the exam depends on the student, however, GENERALLY speaking, if you aren’t terribly strong in math/science, Physics B will probably be your hardest one. Bio is a lot of memorization. Euro is too, though the test was actually pretty broad and conceptual. The general consensus is that psych is a pretty easy exam. English Lit was also considered to be easy by most people. Calc AB really depends on the student and the teacher, so it’s too difficult to say definitively

I only took two of the exams you have listed, but I used the following materials to prep in the weeks before the exam:

AP Calc AB - The Princeton Review + AP Central FRQs
AP European History - The Princeton Review + Modern European History

As far as difficulty goes, I would say that AP Euro is a lot harder than Calc AB, but it just depends on whether you’re more math oriented or if history is your stronger subject.

Exam difficulties from 0-9 (to get a 5):
AP Psychology- 0
AP Calculus AB- 0
AP Physics B- 4
AP English Literature- 9
AP European History- 5
AP Bio- 4

Course difficulty varies from school to school.
