Hi I'm new to the CC world. I'm almost a senior thinking about applying to Princeton next year. Can anyone tell me how difficult it is to maintain a good GPA at Princeton? What kinds of stress levels are common, and how cut throat is the student body? If it helps, I would major in molecular bio, but any input would be greak. Thanks!

GPA and difficulty, as with any college, depends entirely on the classes you choose to take. Princeton is competitive in the sense that all the students were overacheivers in high school and know how to work, but cutthroat competition never really appears among most students, even in some of the pre-med classes I've taken.

Stress is up to you as well. If you can handle high workloads well, you'll have little stress. If you're used to juggling a social life, multiple activities, and lots of work, you won't stress.

MolBio, being in the sciences, will be one of the harder concentrations at Princeton. The work they do is extremely interesting, though, and the students definitely get by. Usually the major stumbling block for science majors is Organic Chemistry, but I hear relatively few complaints about the other science courses. This trend is the same at nearly all other schools - sciences and engineering will always have greater courseloads and classtime (due to labs) than humanities majors.
