difficulty

what are the major differences between the difficulty of CCC classes and yr colleges

ccc = most use semester system
4yr univ = most use quarter system

ccc = do not use curve
4yr univ = use curve

ccc = most schools dont use +/- Letter grade
4 yr univ = almost all uses +/- letter grade

whats the diff between quarter system and semster system? but class wise how difficult are the classes. i mean i got straught As at my CC in many of thier classes, plus honors classes. i pretty much work my ass off all day, and recieve the highest grade in all of them, will i do fine at college park?

quarter is faster paced. usually a quarter consists of 10 weeks in which people normally take four 4 unit classes.

i dont understand, a semster at my cc was 8 weeks.

also are the classes a lot harder?

Someone plz answer are CC a lot easier than 4 yr instituions?

i feel like i am gonna be in classes with 200 people, where i am absolutly meaningless, and the course is uber hard

you will learn young padawan.

lol @ hobo.....

to Abe:

Yes. The general concensus is that CC classes are less competitive and less rigorous than University classes.

Semester System = 2 terms a year of about 14 weeks, which we know as Spring and Fall semesters (that is a total of 28 weeks/year).
Quarter System = 3 terms a year of about 10 weeks, which are on track during Winter, Spring, and Fall (30 weeks/year).

Personally, I think the quarter system is better. You will have less classes per quarter, and will basically pay the same amount of money as you do if your school is in the semester system.

Quarter Units are NOT the same as Semester Units. Two semester units are equivalent to three quarter units. Therefore, to convert semester units to quarter units, multiply the number of semester units by 3/2 (or 1.50); to convert quarter units to semester units, multiply the number of quarter units by 2/3 (or 0.667).

So for instance, 60 Semester Units will count as 90 Quarter Units, and vice versa.
