I am trying to decide between Arizona State University and University of Arizona. I have been accepted into both and got a $6500 scholarship from ASU, but only a $1000 scholarship from U of A. My parents are pushing me into U of A (thinking ASU is a party school), though I will be much happier at ASU. I plan on majoring in Bioengineering with a minor in business (ASU is opening a new biomedical facility). Which one should I go to? Pleease help!

Both great schools. ASU has a better honors program(my opinion ). ASU is more urban, more concrete, better concerts/plays, academics are good at both, some have complained of ASU being too easy but that would not be an issue once you were in your major. Personally I would pick the honors program at ASU or the reg program at U of A. BUT only you can answer this question. What schools feels better, have you visited, spent a night, attended a class. That is the only true way to know. The gap between the two is closing although in ratings ASU is tier 3 or 4 while U of A is a top 100. Let us know what you decide.

So Honors Program wise ASU is better, but regular program wise U of A is better?

ASU has had the reputation of a party school and while there is plenty of partying to be found, they are working to increase the academic reputation. Are you applying to the honors program? You also say you think you might be happier at ASU. Since that is the case and you are being offered significantly more money---. I agree with arizonamom that the gap between the two schools is closing.

I'd go to ASU if it'll make you happy. If it makes you happy, you can convince your parents by manupulating them and making them think that it's better this way, so that they won't spend as much money, and that you could attend U of A for Grad School(you don't have to, but just make them believe you will.

dude... both schools party. neither is better than the other, if you like ASU and they are offering more cash... WTF MATE? GO THERE

Oh, I forgot to mention that I am considering a minor in business. In that case, I am guessing ASU is the better choice.

I suggest visiting both campuses. I personally prefer U of A, especially for biology, but you should just visit and see which school you feel more comfortable with.
