Dilemma - Should I transfer majors?

Hello,

So I am currently in my first semester as Media Studies grad student with a focus on social media and consumer behavior. However, I realized that the program I am in is geared towards film theory and less towards consumption. I am quite set on a career in market research or account planning in media management companies like Nielsen or GroupM and am wondering if I should either:

Transfer to an MA in Advertising under the Account Planning track (MBA is out of the question since I do not have 2 year's industry exp).

Continue my MA in Media Studies and minor in Marketing / Advertising (if so, what courses would be most beneficial?) as well as secure an internship.

Any advice would be helpful! Thanks.

You could transfer schools to do an MBA, as the lower ranked schools do not require work experience in general.

Although, out of the majors you listed, I would suggest advertising over a more Liberal Art focus of Media Studies.
