My Freshman year has not been a great one with grades and discipline. I was already on probation for both. The reason why I am on probation is because I covered for my roommate after an empty alcohol bottle was found inside of her drawers. They assumed it was mine because we switched our room around and it would technically be my side even though it was in her things. Anyways, the rules is that if I was to get another write up I would have a hearing to consider suspension or expulsion and that is exactly what happened. Ive been trying to stay away but the one night i come back to pack my things to go on summer vacation, we were given a noise complaint for the music being too loud! The music was coming from her speakers and her computer. Ive turned my grades around and have been trying to stay out of trouble. She is extremely careless and I;m positive that if she was not my roommate none of this would have happened. What should I do?

I am not sure how housing works at your school, but you should be able to have a meeting with your housing director to talk to them about these things. The least they should be able to do is share the blame.

Nonetheless, I don’t understand why this is an issue. From what it sounds like, this all occurred last school year and you won’t be living with this person again. If this is the case, you just need to stay on your best behavior and try really hard not to associate yourself with anyone that can get you in trouble…at least until your probationary period is over.
