Alright, I took the 4/1 SAT. On the PSAT, I scored a 72 on math, a 66 on CR, and an 80 on writing. On the real thing, after 2 months of prep, I think I did really good on critical reading and writing. However, I think I sorta bombed on the math, maybe scoring as low as 650. The reason is because I sort of got freaked out, and made alot of errors and ran out of time alot. Now, if I took this again, I think I would be much more chilled about the whole thing. So, should i retake in May? If I don't, the earliest I would take it again would be in October, and I really don't want to have to prep all over again. Also, whats the latest possible date you can sign up for the May exam, even with an extra late fee? One more thing, when do we get the 4/1 scores back? Can I wait till I get them back, then sign up for the may exam?

Uh, I know there's another exam May and it's regular deadline has passed; you can still do it late (this my just be SAT II). I know for sure that there's another SAT scheduled June 3rd that I'll take if I'm not satisfied with my score. Our scores will be released online two weeks from now on monday.

i think the late deadline to sign up is april 12, and i think we get scores back on the 17th

i'm not an expert or anything so take teh following with a grain of salt:

from what i've been hearing, colleges will look at your higest scores in each section, no matter when you took it. so for example, if you got 800 on writing, 800 on cr, and 300 on math in april, and when you took it again in june or w/e you got 800 on writing, 760 on cr, and 750 on math, the colleges will look at your total score as: 800 w, 800cr, 750 math. again, i'm not 100% sure but that's the feeling i've been getting

i'm sure that we get the scores for april on the 17th tho

^our guidance counselor told us that but im not sure if its true

Thanks everyone. I think I'm gonna bite the bullet and take it in May, even though its in the middle of AP exams.

sodiao, i heard what you wrote out, but I heard they think something is wrong if you take the SAT more than 3 times........ also someone was saying how if your SAT scores are inconsistent it could hurt you or something.... idk.

After May, the only other time I would possibly be taking it would be in October.

In that case I'd go for it, but that's just me.
