How Important is it to go to Dimensions? If I happen to have a track meet on Thursday of next week and probably can't make Dimensions, will I be missing out on a lot? Or should I try to skip my track meet to go to Dimensions? Any Help would be appreciated. Thanks

My D went to dimensions last year. I don't think that it would be a bad thing if you missed it. I really don't think that you will be missing a lot. Before you know it you will be on your DOC trip. There, you will get a good feel for Dartmouth and form some very strong bonds. Most of the ED kids don't go to Dimensions so not everyone goes. Go to your track meet.

If going isn't a financial burden and missing the track meet/practices won't kick you off the team, i say go to Dimensions. It'll be a good chance for you to meet other prospies and get a feel for what Dartmouth is like. Sure, it might be time for your DOC trip before you know it, but you don't want to wait until you're committed to find out you don't like it there (which is hard to imagine, but who knows), and since (i'm assuming) you're not ED, you can still back out (which, again, is hard to imagine).

I just visited Dartmouth, and the trip cleared up a lot of things for me. It'll be a good chance to ask your host about things you might not want to ask the admissions office.
