I discovered the dining halls close earlier on weekends--7:30 last night. Are there any food places on campus after 7:30pm that I can use my regular meal plan. We ended up having to use flexbucks money at Chilis last night for dinner.

There’s only Suwannee and Fresh Foods which both close at that time…you’d either have to go earlier or go to Chili’s/Denny’s!

I think they should keep at least one of the dining halls open later hours on weekends so you can at least get a sandwich or breakfast. My stomach doesn’t shut down at 7:30pm on weekends! I’m ok with the late breakfast hours on weekends, but it’d be nice if you could stop by and hang at the dining hall at night on weekends after going out.

Why complain, use your head.

Get a box before 7:30, pop it in the fridge.
Warm it up when your hungry…

I’m not complaining, I’m just saying it would be nice if one of the campus dining halls stayed open later until maybe midnight with a skeleton crew at least operating a grill serving sandwiches and burgers. If Seminole dining did this I could use my unlimited meal plan and avoid having to pay $10 to go to Denny’s after hours (I don’t even know where the Denny’s is yet, I have been to Chili’s). Maybe FSU has an understanding with Denny’s and Aramark with a no-compete arrangement after hours, or maybe Aramark operates the Denny’s and doesn’t want dining halls open late to help out Denny’s business? Anyhows, i’m not going to starve–it would just be nice to be able to go to the dining halls later and be able to sit at a table with friends. Too, I hate the idea of eating boxed meals in my room, they stink the room up and I prefer eating in the dining room. If I could have picked up a boxed meal at 7:30pm, I would have just eaten in the dining hall.

Add to the fact that they let things go empty an hour before they close.

Ever been to the SLC? The place where there are free movies? It’s like…a 1 minute walk from there haha

It is not cost effective to stay open later on weekends. They used to, no one used the facilities. There is NO non-compete clause with Denny’s or Chili’s. Staying open later would drive the cost of the meal plan up. So they don’t. Denney’s is the old Park Ave Diner location. And all plans come with some flexbucks just for that reason.
