I just feel like complaining. I go to a small school (~1300 students), and there are hardly any dining options. Especially on the weekends. I just slept through brunch, and there is not a single other place open until four. I do have some cereal in my room, but I would prefer to eat something of actual substance. Besides a coffee shop that serves brownies, nothing is open past seven, ever. Really sucks when I work at the main dining hall and have to shovel down a meal at 4:30. I don't finish until eight, at which point everything is closed.

The main cafeteria has limited hours, but there are almost always other places open on campus. I go to a small school too (about 2100 students).

The main cafeteria is open 7am-9:30am Monday through Friday for breakfast, 11:30-12:45 for lunch, and 5:15-7 for dinner except Friday dinner closes instead at 6:30. Saturday hours: closed for breakfast, 11:30-12:30 lunch, and 5-6 for dinner. Sunday: brunch 10:30-12:30 and 5-6 for dinner.

Then there’s another place that’s open 7:30am-11pm Monday through Thursday, Friday 7:30am-10:30pm, Saturday 11am-10:30pm, and Sunday 12pm-11pm.

There’s another place that has similar hours to that^

Then there’s a restaurant type thing on campus that’s open 11:30am-10:30pm every day including weekends.

Then there’s another 7:30am-10pm M-F and weekends 10am-10pm.

So we have quite a few options…I think I got all of them on campus here.

^I live in a building that’s 7 floors, but only 6 are floors where people actually live, and there are 8 washing machines, and 8 dryers. Not sure why we are commenting on that too…but whatever

I had the same work schedule my freshman year! Except that students working the dinner shift could request a take-out container, so that we could set some food aside and eat after our shift. Have you inquired if that’s an option?

At mine, the hours for the dining hall are:
7-10:15am for breakfast from Monday to Friday
11am-2pm for lunch from Monday to Friday

Dinner hours are 4:45-8pm from Monday to Thursday, 4:45-7:30 on Friday, and 5-7pm on Saturday. Saturday and Sunday has brunch hours from 9:30am to 2pm.

They also have late night hours on Monday to Thursday from 8:45pm to midnight.

There are also 3 separate dining commons–two of them share practically the same menu, but the one nearest the building I’m in has a separate menu from them, which is great. :)

I go to a large state school. Dining hall is open from 7:30am-7pm Sun-Thurs, then there’s late night with limited food stations open. Late night in the freshman area of campus is 7-midnight, but late night in the other dining hall is from 9-midnight. It’s kind of annoying that it closes in those 2 hours but whatever.

Friday and Saturday both dining halls close at 7…super annoying.

Then Sat/Sun it opens at 11am. Some people think it should be open earlier but most people aren’t up until then so it’s only an inconvenience if there’s a noon football game or you have some event early in the morning.

I go to a large public school with around 25k students. Somehow we only have 2 main dining halls. The cafeteria-style one is open 7:30am - 12am M-F, 10am - 2:30pm and 4:30 - 8pm on Saturdays, and 11am - 2:30pm and 4:30 - 12am on Sundays.
The other food-court style place is open 7:30am - 8pm M - F, and 11am - 7:30pm on the weekend.
The hours aren’t too bad, I guess. I can feel myself getting sick of them already though, and it’s only been a month.
Then there’s also a Starbucks and a 7-11 open 24/7.
There’s a ton of food trucks too. And a couple pizza places, coffee shops, and chinese places on or directly off campus. Oh yeah we have a McDonald’s and a grocery store too. And some of our academic buildings have like “food stalls” or whatever.
It’s kind of hard to eat healthy though. Unless you survive off of salad, yogurt, fruit, and cereal.
Next year when I get an apartment I think it’ll be easier.

I go to a small LAC (~1400 students). Our dining hall is open from 7am-10pm during the week, but everything except the grill food closes at 7pm. There’s also a cafe that sells smoothies, coffee drinks, sandwiches, gelato, etc. that is open from 8am-8pm.

I go to a huge state school and I love what they have Monday-Friday at lunch.

But Friday supper and Saturday and Sunday just suck. Everything closes. And on Saturdays and Sundays, they only serve breakfast at lunch in the hotline… I don’t know why. But the Italian place, the Deli, the foryo place, the icecream place… They’re all closed.

During the week there are like 25 different places to eat, but on the weekends there’s only a few. And there isn’t an actual lunch. Which is plain annoying.

I have a giant state university, and their food is really great! One of the halls is open every day of the week, and the other is open M-F. There’s food from 7:15am-7:30 pm at one, and 11am-11pm (ish) at the other. And there’s also the commons on the other side of campus, but the food isn’t as good. Not only that, but there’s a food court thing at the student center with a whole bunch of (cheap!) restaurants open at the normal hours. And if you’re up really late (like, one in the morning), and you need food, there’s University Town Center right across the street and it has a bunch of restaurants/ice cream places/tea shops open past midnight.
We have no shortage of food here.
