disagreement over quality of youtube video

My child wants to send a youtube link of herself playing an instrument in a performance setting. The problem is, the video quality is not very good. It's high definition, but the lighting is off and mom didn't always hold the camera steady. Ninety percent of the time, however, it is steady. Also, my daughter played fine but the others in the group were sometimes a little off. Her part is crystal clear.

She is insisting on using it because "it's about the music," she says. We are not the best of videographers and we are afraid she will look bad compared to the rest of the topnotch videos that W&M undoubtedly gets.

Please help!

Is your daughter planning on submitting this as a fine art supplement? If so, she needs to follow the guidelines set forth by W&M’s Music Department [William & Mary - Arts Submissions](http://www.wm.edu/admission/undergraduateadmission/applicationprocess/artssubmissions/index.php)

If she plans to send this as an optional submission then there are no specific guidelines but we would need to be able to clearly identify who your daughter is in the video. She may just want to think about editing the video so that the unclear parts are not part of what she submits. While we are not here to judge the quality of any video, we encourage students to submit something that says something about them we don’t already know and that they submit something the application readers are able to easily see/follow.
