Just applied to Discover Wellesley and was wondering about selectivity, how many students are accepted, and most of all how it impacts the admissions decisions. Are most or all spots for URM applicants?

I don’t know the answers to your specific questions but my D applied to the program too. I guess we’ll find out on the 10th!

Any news?

Notifications for the first round of applicants went out around 5:30 pm today. Sixty students invited. It seems 275 applied.

There is another round to be announced on September 15, 2014. Good luck.

@tampa2015 thank you!

D did not get an invite for the first round. She is not a URM but is from a low geographically represented area so I figured that it didn’t hurt to apply. I did get a contact for the regional admissions rep who will be coming our area so D plans to go to that meeting to learn more about the school and show interest.

The first round of invites went out to those who applied before June 30, 2015. If your daughter did not have everything in by that date, she will get a response on September 15, 2014. My D will be attending and she received a travel grant.

She did apply by the first deadline but was declined. The letter acknowledged her stats and encouraged her to apply for admission… Now she’ll go to the regional meeting if offered and hope to get more insight about Wellesley that way.

I was accepted yesterday! Coming from SoCal! Where is everybody else from?

Congratulations. Who knows you may be staying with my D… :). She has volunteered to be host for this year.

That’s fantastic! What’s her major? How does she like it there?
