<p>Alright, so I applied to McGill back in November, been checking the thing probably everyday, multiple times, since (>_>). The two programs I chose to apply to were the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Education (Teaching English as a Second Language).</p>
<p>The main one I want is the one to the Faculty of Arts...which is still Decision Pending despite being past March 26, the date they are supposedly suppose to let us know? (I'm a US student) But that's not the point of this thread...</p>
<p>I got an e-mail about two weeks ago from Frank Babics, supposed admissions officer for McGill...the e-mail seemed slightly weird to me, but he had my application number and such. The main thing that made me think the e-mail may even have been fake was because it said "Dear Ms. Picon" which is completely wrong because my last name is not Picon nor am I a female. So I replied to his e-mail and he said that it was a mistake and he forgot to erase the name from the template e-mail. He subsequently sent me a "correct" e-mail... I checked to make sure, for one, if Frank Babics is really a McGill admissions officer and he IS listed on the site, so...I guess it must have been legit?</p>
<p>Alright, so I figured I'd say all that, but the REAL question is a discrepancy with the way the wording of the e-mail is...this is what I received:</p>

Please note that distance testing is available; you can contact Ms. Alina Broccoli at <a href="mailto:alina.broccoli@mcgill.ca">alina.broccoli@mcgill.ca</a> or at (514) 398-4527 to register for a testing session.</p>
<p>If at any time you choose to no longer pursue your application to the TESL program, kindly let me know by replying to this email.</p>

<p>I put [xxx] in places where my name and application number were (for obvious reasons). My question is, does this e-mail mean I am basically ADMITTED into the program, all I need to do is take that test and send them the results? Or does it mean that it's just another requirement I still need to send to them? This particular application still says "Further Review Required." And that English Language Proficiency Test was added as a requirement not long before I received this e-mail... </p>
<p>So yeah, first concern is if the e-mail is legit (because I was expecting to get such an e-mail in a more formal manner, I guess, and the mistakes at first were a bit odd), and what this e-mail exactly means... Sorry that this post is kind of long, hopefully you guys can tredge through it and give me some clarification. >_< I probably could just e-mail him, but I just feel a bit weird e-mailing him again after pointing out his mistake at first...</p>
