for those of you who have received a decision...

how long after they received all of your materials did it take for them to make a decision? i know there's no definitive time frame but i'm just nervous about my decision and i'd like to get an idea of when i'll find out.

just curious, thanks (:

You’ll be wanting to ask OscarUK all about that…:-)

I shall refrain from pointing out the number of times this has been asked and answered… And simply repeat:

There is (unfortunately) NO way of knowing. No formula, no deadlines, no timetables for decisions… nothing. Total guess work; best way to deal with the wait is focus on other things and try to not obsess about it. Take up a new hobby or something.

I have heard some people who heard days after their documents were received, others who waited months… c’est la vie.

I don’t get why McGill doesn’t specify a date for each applicant. If they were organized they’d do that. My friend who’s applying to Harvard, MIT, NYU, Yale…has all their decision dates already, and all he has to do is wait for that day to know. Why can’t McGill be like that?

Could be any number of reasons… Principally I would have thought is that most US universities are incomparably richer and so have far more money to spend creating and maintaining a streamlined and efficient admissions dept.

Yeah I guess so. I guess a disadvantage of McGill is that it’s public.

I totally agree with OscarUK; we are not the admissions officers, so although we who have gotten an offer can post our grades for your reference, we can’t predict when your offer will come.

For those who are already done with submission of your transcripts, waiting is the best option.

I see it’s being a public school as it’s great ADvantage personally… if it were private I would not be able to afford to attend :)

To those who got admitted as well:

In order to officially accept my offer, do i need to pay the deposit first? Or do i simply click on accepting the offer in Minerva?

To accept you need to pay the $300 deposit, Minerva will link you to this if I remember rightly

@oscarUK The cost is most definitely an advantage, edpecially if you are a Canadian citizen.
