Discrimination help

Hi, I am an Asian/Christian.
I am a Sri Lankan and Indian mix and what I need to know is whether I should state "mixed race" or "asian." I am also a Christian and am afraid that saying I am will reduce my chances into getting into an ivy league school (highly liberal).
I know they say they are not religiously biased, but I believe they are. I know for a fact if I was black, hispanic, or white they would accept me easily, but because I am Asian they might not. Can I say I am a mixed race? Thanks!

Huh? With a sub 10% admit rate you are a shoo-in but the only detractor is your asian race? You also believe they are biased against Christians?

You don’t specifically state your religion on your application and you ordinarily don’t do that in your essays either although it may be obvious from your extra-curricular activities. How about putting down that you are Asian, as you are, and accept the fact that there are a multitude of factors that play a role in whether you are admitted.

OP, this discussion belongs on the Race FAQ sticky thread at the top of this forum.
