<p>I’m going to be a freshman in CGS this coming fall and plan to take elementary statistics. For the class I also had to sign up for a discussion class and I was wondering what we do in the discussion classes. Thanks!</p>
<p>this is not specifically referring to the statistics class but rather for all classes at BU. almost all classes have a discussion component with your normal lectures every week. this is a chance for you to gather in a smaller setting of anywhere from 20-40 students from your lecture in order to ask questions and review what you may not have understood. it is required and many people think it is a waste of time. however, it can affect your final grade if you attend regularly and the TF (teaching fellow) takes note of that. they do have some control of your grade as well such as participation, attendance, and some assignments</p>
