Though there may not be a difference b/w a A and an A+ (except that an A+ looks better), there’s def a difference b/w A- and an A, or a B and a B+ in how GPA is calculated.

Well, maybe I just didn’t pay attention because my school doesn’t use + or - .
So what’s the difference between an a and a+?
If there is a difference and certain schools like mine don’t use + or -, isn’t that an unfair advantage or disadvantage?

Most schools use the grading scale below when calculating GPA:

A 4.0
A- 3.67
B+ 3.33
B 3.0
B- 2.67
C+ 2.33
C 2.0
C- 1.67
D+ 1.33
D 1.0
D- .67
F 0

Wow. I never knew that.
Guess I got lucky my school doesn’t do that, I’d have a couple of a-instead of a’s.

I wish my teachers would enter my grades already! I’m checking my portal about every hour…it’s getting insane

^ I’m with you. I’m still waiting on 2 more grades. The 2 that I’m most not confident about.

I think what I’m worried about at this point is berkeley’s email confirmation…asdf

lmao 10:00pm and my last grade still isn’t up. my professor must be waiting until 11:59 to post them

@altruition,

I submitted my application very early in the cycle and I have received email confirmations for all UC’s except Berkeley. Don’t worry, Berkeley will send them out as soon as mid Jan rolls around.

Finally got my last 2 grades. ^_^

Chinese 102 - A
Spanish 103 - A
Cultural Anthro - A
Physical Anthro Lab - A

Right. Berkeley’s out. Ugh…here we go…
