Anyone know if discussions sections are useful? thanks!!

discussion sections are always useful…if you dont go youre just that much more at a loss

BIPN100 discussion is most definitely useful. You get more visuals and walkthroughs of pathways/systems in discussion since it takes too long in lectures usually. My TA also had quite a few old midterm problems so she’d go over those each discussion.

ECON1 discussion usually takes attendance, so yes. When I TA’ed ECON3, we also went over practice midterms, homeworks, textbook problems, and I answered students’ questions as best I could about what would potentially be on the exams. For lots of bigger classes where undergrads take an active role as TA’s, this is fairly common practice, so take advantage. It seems that some graduate TA’s are only teaching to maintain their remission/stipend.

Some PSYC60 discussions take attendance. Since it’s a stats class, there will probably be practice problems being solved in class to get a better grasp of the content. If you plan on taking any more statistics classes (which I highly recommend you do), then you better have a mastery of the foundations.

TWS26 - no clue
