I have my phone interview thursday for the spring advantage program! Anyone else planning to be there in May!?

I applied too and a calling them tomorrow to setup my interview, btw did anyone see the congratulations you are a strong candidate on the final pg that tells you to call the program for the interview?

I heard the pay for the Disney’s College programs are horrendous.

^^^Yeah its minimum wage but am not doing it for the money, I want the work experience, free admission to the park and a change of scenery from hectic NYC.

Yeah, I understand. Just wish they had a program from May-August without the students missing school time.

^^^They do, however you have to be an alumni to get the summer program.

I am currently a college student with a dream of performing at Disney. I love the parks in general and would enjoy working there I think. I will want a bachelors degree so i was thinking about doing the program, staying employed there and finishing my education at a school in Orlando. Is it worth it to leave college and go do the program? Will I be able to eventually pursue my dream of performing? How long is the program and should you do it more than once with different roles maybe? Is the housing decent? If you cant tell I havent contacted anyone yet to get them to help me with these questions… so any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

I don’t understand what type of “work experience” you guys are talking about.

A college student taking an academic semester off to be a cashier at Disney Land is exceptional work experience that employers would be dying to hire you for? Please.

I bet all these people posting about how great it is are disney representatives who signed up for new accounts. Notice how they all have 1-2 posts.

I’m currently a high school junior and have only recently learned of this opportunity-- does anyone know the percentage of applicants who are accepted? and what sorts of jobs do they allow college kids to do? I used to live right near disneyland and had year passes… so i definitely know disney and would love to work there.
Can we help with the flower beds? what about store windows? Do out-of-state students receive a different pay than in-staters?
How does missing a semester of classes work…? Would that mean we have to take another semester of classes at our college?
And judging by the site for this information, there are no culinary jobs in disneyland? darn… between the two parks, i prefer cali. of course, i’ve never been to florida, so yeah…
Out of all those questions, I am most interested in the percentage of applicants who get in

Did you get paid overtime?
