Dissapointed Financial Aid

As an out-of-state student, I am already setup for a premium if I attend Illinois. I got accepted a while back as I applied priority for Computer Science. I expected at least 1 scholarship but when I checked, Illinois offered to give me loans of over $200k plus interest as a sort of "aid". I am devasted by this as I worked for 4 years to get accepted and attend but after this statement, I am not even considering it. I might as well have only worked for my state school which offers me at least $5000 scholarship per year for the same field. If anyone else experienced this, please reply if there is anyway we ALL can qualify for scholarship next year or have a solution to this issue in the form of calling office of financial aid.

U of I’s financial aid is NONEXISTENT

yeah don’t expect financial aid from u of I. this is nothing new they have never given financial aid

well the state is bankrupt soooooooooooo…

This post should provide more insight into the situation of students in cs and whether or not they personally believed it was worth it.
