Distance to classes?

Alright I'm transferring to UVA this fall and just had a question about distance to classes... If someone could please comment on these distances and if they can be done

New cabel hall to bryan hall in 10 minutes

and

Bryan hall to Clarke Hall in 10 minutes?

Thanks

easily yes to both

then from ->
1)new cabel hall to gibson
2)gibson hall to maury hall
can it be done in 10 minutes?

easily yes to both of those too

then

1) new cabell hall to monroe hall
2) monroe hlal to gibson

I checked google maps’ direction , and it shows that would take 15 min to walk. Is it accurate?

It is definitely not 10 minutes, let alone 15, for any of those. Gibson is part of the South Lawn (across a foot bridge from the Lawn). New Cabell is on the southern part of the Lawn (on the other side of the previously mentioned foot bridge). Monroe is near Brown College, 3-5 minutes away from New Cabell (minus the stairs you take to your individual classroom).

@Kamikorosu, I walked those last year and had no problem doing them in under 10

Can you get from Clark Hall (first floor) to McLeod Hall (second floor) in 10 minutes?

wont be a problem

1) Physics building to new cabell hall in 15?
2)Mccleod Hall to monroe hall in 15?
3)minor hall to clark hall in 10?
please and thank you:)

yes to all of them, but be wary of heavy foot traffic congested on the bridge over emmet street for trip 1; might have to walk briskly to compensate if you make the trip at a busy time of day (typically morning, early afternoon)

Thanks clickflash. My son’s schedule has 3 classes back to back, starting at Clark, then the next two are both in McLeod. It looked (on paper) that Clark was far from McLeod, and since its SPAN 2020 I was concerned about him being late, as it appears that being late or missing that class counts against the grade. Was thinking about getting him to move his schedule around (or try to) but if you think that walk is doable in 10 minutes, then I guess he will keep what he has. Thanks again.

@ cronick, to remove all doubt/worry I suggest your son try walking it on a day before classes start just to be 100% sure seeing as punctuality is very important here, and so he can get a feel for pacing. I’m certain it won’t be a problem though. I hope he enjoys his first year at UVa

@clickflash Thanks! I appreciate the info.
