Distinguished Scholar Day

I applied SCEA to Baylor on August 1st and today I received a notification on GoBaylor that I qualified for Distinguished Scholar Day based on my test scores. If anyone has attended: what exactly does the day consist of?
also, how hard is it to receive the $3,000 scholarship you can apply for after the event?

I’m attending the Distinguished Scholar Day on October 17, but I know people who went last year and are now attending Baylor. The day is basically a tour of the campus and an information session within the college that you want to major in. You can meet with faculty after that and then get a tour of the athletic facilities. I would say it’s semi-competitive for the $3,000 because you have to write an essay for it.

My son attended the October 3rd one. They gave him some t-shirts, a tour around campus and a residential college. He attended an academic session based on his major, engineering, and then got the essay prompts for the scholarship. He had to pick one prompt from 4 given and submit an essay within two weeks. Two weeks after that he got the scholarship which adds on an additional 3k each year to his other scholarships. I have no idea how many of the kids got the scholarship though.
