Hello, all! Since the question of diversity at Quinnipiac has come up a few times since we did our college touring in 2013-2014, I became curious myself about it. So, I did a quick study. Many students who attend come from Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut (and other surrounding areas). There are 8-10,000 people who attend QU. Our humble and honest observations the last two years at various events are: suburban homogeneous and we do see other diversity sprinkled throughout. In my child’s large circle of friends and activities, adults and students are inclusive, treated like individuals and thought to race, religion, preferences, monetary status, and other observances are not the first thing that comes to mind, if at all. We fall into a few of those categories. A mix of wealthy and middle class people; students seem respectful and care about their grades and futures. We have asked some of our friends that have diverse ethical, religious and other backgrounds what they thought, and they felt fine as far as vibe is concerned. Again, just our particular observance the last two years so far.
Anyway, I did a quick search on college board on the colleges that we looked at or considered when my D was doing here college search. Not representative of all USA…just what we considered. We visited, applied, and she was accepted to some but not all of these colleges, but they were on the initial list of interest. Hope it helps!
