diversity

i know diversity is supposed to be a good thing, but i am wondering how future rutgers students feel about the amount of minorities at rutgers? i'm white, im not racist in ANYWAY. but i am a little worried about going to college where so many people are minorities. i just hope i find my place and everything..

maybe can some rutgers students talk about the interactions between the different nationalities and races?

Rutgers:NB is 60% white.. Personally, I go to a school (high school) where only 1% of the population has the same ethnic background as myself.. so I don't know why you are so worried.

Unless you're unwilling to have some asian, indian and black friends, you have nothing to worry about.

I love how whenever someone says, "I'm not racist," they follow it up by saying something completely racist.

^LOL that's so true. I never realized until now.

It's not racist to feel uncomfortable when you don't fit in.
I love how people label others a racist the moment that they say anything about race that doesn't fit their own personal values.

Maybe. Like the second poster, I'm a minority, so it just seems stupid when a white kid expresses concern about "finding his place" in a school that is 60% white. He really has no idea.

yeah he has absolutly no idea I have never been to a school that was more than 1% my race. Going to a school that is more than half white is a lot and he should not complain about it because in America he will always be the majority and his race will still be at Rutgers. So he needs to get over it I think that he may be a little prejudice if he is so concerned about being in a school where minorities are not even the majority.
