Does it help in admissions if one of the coaches from a team pushes for your application to be approved? I know they are division III and can't give scholarships, but do you think a coach supporting your application helps any?

absolutely. you'll at least get a second look at your app.

Depends on the school, but if it's a school that values athletics, it's a big plus. No question.

Thanks, that give's me a little more hope! It's swim where they have a ton of girls and only a handful of guys so they are trying to develop and build the guys team to even it out a little. Even in D III, I wasn't sure.

^ Was wondering what school is that if I may ask?

Yes, it can make a big difference, especially if they want to balance out a team. Also look for DII and DIII teams that currently only have girl's teams and wish to add boy's or are promoting intramural squads to varsity.
