SO I'm currently a high school senior and I'm also an amateur DJ in my area. I do parties now and then and I have my own equipment. How do I "DJ" in college? Not necessarily parties but in general...although DJing a college party seems like something I would be interested in.

I’m kind of in the same situation as you. Production, dj, etc. my guess is you’d probably have to get some connections somewhere (say, know people in a fraternity that parties) and go from there. I want to hear what others have to say as well though.

I guess having connections wherever you are going is probably the easiest way to do it…but I’ll wait for other opinions too

Bump…anyone???

Start making some contacts and work up some business cards. You can offer your services to your friends who have parties, or talk to someone who you know is having a party and ask them if they need a DJ. If you want to ask for pay that’s cool, but it’s also a good idea to maybe try to work for free your first couple of gigs so you can start to get a reputation on campus.

Sounds like a plan! Thanks for the reply
