I really wanna DJ and probably will learn nxt semester
but would that look bad to colleges if I put it on my college apps?
I'm worried some might see me as a party girl or something like that and reject me :(
I have good grades and all tho..

its unique at least

I DJ, but I do it for my own enjoyment. DJing most of the time does not entail partying. I also don’t think there is anywhere on a college application that asks you what you do for fun that is not a school EC, and if there is, you don’t have to say what you don’t want to. You have to learn a LOT before DJing, the equipment, what it really is, the essence of it, etc. If you have any questions about DJing, PM me.

thanks ((:
that made me feel much much better ! woo

^ Your welcome (: And keep in mind that DJing is not a cheap hobby. My first set cost about $2k (a controller and two speakers). I don’t know what you think DJing is, so in case you don’t know it is basically this: you find two songs that are compatible (the hardest part of being a DJ), you listen to both of them at the same time (track 1 on speakers, track 2 on headphones), adjust the beats so that they are matched, then you blend the tracks together. It is a form of art that needs to be learned and it is much harder than it seems, but the only way you will ever learn how to do it is by actually buying the equipment and using it. So, do a lot of research, and if you are sure you want to do it, prepare to put down some big cash.

There are a lot of dimensions to DJing, and there is a 100% chance you will be overwhelmed at first. You will have many questions and chances are that you will not know what to buy and where.

DJing is not for everyone, but if naturally have good rhythm, are very passionate about music, and want to do more with your music than just listen to it, you may have a chance.

If you ever decide that you want to go through with it, I’m here to answer any questions (sadly, I think I’m going to be here until I graduate from high school).
