Just wondering if it's commonplace at other universities...

I've seen at least 3 profs here who wear them regularly - probably more since I haven't met many

My physics professor did, so nerdy...

where do you go to school? it's definately a california thing, no matter where you are in the state

washington state

I do that sometimes. Takes the sweat from my feet. Yet it's cooler than using shoes.

im expecting to see that at ucsc a lot.. lol

Physics professors are known to do some crazy things.

never my professors all wear suits.

All suits for mine as well. Once in awhile they would wear a polo or sweater with slacks but I have never seen a prof of mine wearing sandals or anything like that. Maybe I just haven't encountered any odd prof thus far

hahahaha.......what a loser!!!!!!!!!!....do u seriously do that????.....u must be joking....what a nerd....have u ever been laid???????

Encountered a prof during his office hours wearing mandals (he had nice feet though). I couldn't help but giggle. :-P

I wear sandels all the time. I'm trying to become a prophet here.

Yup, sometimes. Bear in mind that the reason you wouldn't wear socks with sandals is not because the idea doesn't have merit, but because you think it's uncool. College profs have spent their entire adult life trying to separate the true from the bogus. If they subsequently decide that the only thing separating them from comfort is an arbitrary rule of coolness, then they're likely to say "what the heck" and do what they wish. Unless they're Business or Econ profs - arbitrary rules of what's proper drive profit and loss in the business world, so they still think they're important.
