Do any of you party?

@CE You bring up a valid points, but mostly because I phrased my thoughts poorly. I participate in EC’s (newspaper, basketball captain, tutor after school) and get good/decent grades. But to me, it seems like the majority (or a vocal minority) of people on this site are totally consumed with school and their EC’s. I remember seeing a topic a month back or so where people absolutely flipped out because someone admitted to slacking off in one class to party. I don’t know, maybe I’m wrong, but I’ve seen a lot of people badmouth people who party or are less focused on school and EC’s

underaged drinking is illegal, children

I have a lot. We know how to up here in Wisconsin. I also hold a 4.0 and am heavily involved in school. I am responsible and careful… never drink and drive. I am an extremely social person and it’s just a great way to have fun.

Many people will judge me for drinking underage, even though I get good grades, play sports, and work on a farm. Also have a 30 ACT. You just have to be responsible and use common sense. Don’t go partying on a school night and always make sure work is done first. It really isn’t that big of a deal. Get it out of my system now so I can focus on engineering next year.

@Hoops…I see your point, but saying one person flip out doesn
t mean everyone thinks that way, as well as the fact you might have interpreted what they said wrong, or they might have phrased their thoughts poorly, like you just did. Personally, my philosophy: People can do whatever they want, and I don
t care (as far as schoolwork, etc) unless it affects me. I
m not an uptight student really, and pull mostly A
s and some B
s, so I guess on CC, I
m not necessarily considered as smart, but when you look at my high school, only 25% go on to attend 4 year colleges/universities, so I`m smart there. shrug Guess it depends on the viewpoint.

@Hoops I just ignore those type of students. They just enjoy getting caught up in other peoples’ business.

I’m a national honor society student and let me tell you, I love to socialize and party

I’ve never been to a party. :stuck_out_tongue: Once you are the school brainiac your social life is over. I want to party hard this summer though, get it out of my system so I don’t crash and burn in college.

I go to probably two a month. I’m planning on having one soon…like a real rager haha.

Not really, I mostly just hang out with friends. Although recently, due to 3 APs and marching band the only free day I have is Sunday…

Kind of- I hang out with people and have fun, but the people I hang out with aren’t really the ‘drinking type’- too clean cut.

I’ve had beer before at a party for the place I worked but the party was literally the nerdiest thing on Earth. It was beyond hilarious- people were having pippette firing competitions and the prizes were free things donated from biotech companies.

I try to find a balance, during the weekdays I’m completely tame and work diligently, but come the weekends, I get together with my friends and get trashed.

I went to this one party where we played nerdy card games, chess, and had piano competitions. It was a fun experience, though.

No, I’ve never touched alcohol, and I’ve never smoked a joint.

Did I forget to mention I’m also 18?

The only parties I’ve been to since starting high school are a couple of after-parties after last year’s Homecoming and one with the cross country team freshman year.

Birthdays and holidays we party quite a bit, but not big, crazy kind of parties! There’ll be 5-10 of us and we’ll maybe go out to a concert or show, then stay up all night talking, eating and drinking (I don’t drink though). I like it, we have fun but it’s still private and friendly.

“I’ve had beer before at a party for the place I worked but the party was literally the nerdiest thing on Earth. It was beyond hilarious- people were having pippette firing competitions and the prizes were free things donated from biotech companies.”

Can we party together? I want to have a pipette firing competition.

I lose at ten fingers against people would be normal cc’ers, so I guess I’m not that innocent. Chalk it all up to two fairly small and tame drinking parties/my desire to try anything safe at least once.

Other than that, my parties with friends involve staying up ridiculously late talking, playing board games/wii party games and eating unhealthy food. Those are the best parties :D. (We ended up doing a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle on New Year’s eve. It was great.)

Not really party-parties. My group of friends like to go to movies or concerts or play board games or Dungeons and Dragons … we’re a pretty tame set of nerds. I mean we went to Homecoming and go to birthday parties but nothing crazy

Most people who don’t know me think my grades suck because I screw around a lot. They’re always surprised to see my semester grades because I always kick their asses.

But classes bore me and I’d much rather hangout with friends than do my homework. I go clubbing quite a lot, and I get drunk quite a lot. Still… I know my limits and I stop messing around when it’s time to stop. I’m not gonna be studying 24/7 and not have any kind of fun or life but I’m also not gonna screw my life over

Your post is contradictory.

“Personally, I’d rather have fun and get a few B’s than study all day and get straight A’s”

AMEN to whoever said this, not to be cliche but you’re only this age once. We have the rest of our lives to work and be serious. And so what if you get all straight A’s in the 10th grade? Doesn’t mean your life will be any better/ more successful then the guy who got straight B’s
So yes, I do party
