while i think this is a nice thing to do, however, i have a friend who calls me almost everyday just to talk. i guess he's just trying to pass the time when he waits for his ride, but i found this very strange. who calls like that anymore?

Once in a while I'll call my high school friends, but not every day...

I talk to one high school friend about everyday, but shes a girl so its not such a big deal and she calls me a lot too. I rarely call any of my guy friends, maybe once every 3 weeks or a month. But we're not as good friends anyways so that makes sense.

But if its a guy calling you everyday that is a little weird.......but you shouldn't care so much if he's a good friend of yours.

Well, as a girl, yes my friends do that sometimes. Girls are just kinda like that. I'm not really one much for phone talk unless I have something to say, but usually I'll think of something to talk about if one of my friends calls me (homework, what we're doing this weekend, have you talked to so-and-so, etc). It's kinda weird when guys do it though, because usually guys are like, "hey. what's up? not much. yeah just sitting here. okay, yeah. uh-huh. ok. bye" and that's like, the extent of my phone conversations with them.

One of my female friends (I'm a guy) calls me to talk like every three days or so and she keeps on the line for half an hour or more. It's really frustrating.

My sister used to do that...I guess it's different when the person is in your family, though, you don't mind it so much

well, ok.. we knew each other since the 8th grade. lol. but we only became close like 2 years ago. but still, no one any closer i know would call me everyday like that. in fact, when we first got close, he called me every single day, until he made me mad, so i didn't want to talk to him anymore. but i got over it, and just called him last week to see what's new, and since then, he's been calling almost everyday at the same time. this guy has a gf too. wonder why he don't call her instead. haha. :p

maybe he doens't have many friends?

I had a guy friend that I used to talk to every day for up to 2 hours. He was really my best friend and we live far away (like 1 hour away) so we really had a lot to talk about.

I have this one friend that calls quite often and she always just talks for as long as I'll let her (and we have a few classes together and talk then too). I never really know how to get off the phone (I always feel like I have to have an excuse from an external source in order to get off the phone without feeling rude). If I say I have to go, she asks why. How do you get off the phone with someone that talkative?

hahah^^ thats one reason facebook is worth the sign up.

I do that with my best friends. Not daily, but often. There's something so much more personal about hearing a person's voice versus using a computer to talk to them. IMs are void of that.

i'll stick to facebook. trust me, the OP has a point.

I usually talk to them over AIM, but once in awhile they will call.

This reminds me of the Family Guy episode where Peter becomes feminine.
