I want to know if AP Courses taken at my high school are considered "college courses". This is for the UIUC application, by the way.

I'm just wondering how my rigor of courses can be accurately demonstrated when the application doesn't require transcripts immediately with the application.

Check UIUC for the definition of “college courses”, as this may differ by university.

Some other universities do not count AP courses as “college courses”, but do count them as “honors” high school courses; “college courses” would be those taken at an actual college (usually a community college) and transferable to the university with credit.

I do not believe AP couses are considered college courses. They are courses for which a college may (or may not) give you college credit.

A college course would be just that… a course you may have taken at a CC or online, or a college credit course given at your high school, with college credits given from a specific university. My children’s colleges courses, taken in HS, were through Syracuse and we had to pay for the courses to get the credit (or students could take the course without paying for the college credits). We had to have Syracuse send transcripts to the colleges for application consideration.

I’m a couple of days late on this, but thanks.

I did not mark my AP classes as college courses.

My worries about academic rigor ceased when I discovered a self-reported record was required. My worries about getting the application in, however, did not, as I discovered the requirement at 10PM on Monday night!

I did eventually get the application in on time. Again, thanks! Now is the hard part, waiting and stressing over admission.
