Do APs play a big role in college acceptance?

Hi, I'm a junior and so far I haven't taken any AP classes. My school only offers 7 and the classes accept a very limited amount of people. I applied for an AP class this year, but i was rejected. I'm planning on taking 2 or 3 AP classes next year(senior). The question I'm wondering is if I study for the AP physics B exam for the May exam will it improve my chances of getting into good colleges. On the other hand, I have many things to worry about for example: SAT and SAT physics, ush, and MATH II. Will it be a good investment of my time or should I spend more time on the SAT and SAT subject tests?

help please

Invest your time in SAT’s and SAT’s. They matter more than AP tests. Since your school does not offer a lot of AP’s colleges will understand why you don’t have so many on your transcript.

SAT II’s *

thank you for helping me

AP tests are generally more difficult than Subject tests and they are only self-reported on college apps, you don’t have to send score reports like with SATs. While I believe that AP scores are considered in college admissions, I think that SAT/ACT/Subject tests are much more important to do well on.

Also, many colleges require Subject tests, but none require APs. I think your time is better spent concentrating on your SAT and Subject tests.

thank you for the advice
