I was just wondering do Canadian Universities give any aid at all to International students, From what I have heard they dont but I just want to confirm.

They do give entrance scholarships to international students. I am one and received a scholarship from UBC.

Thedoverdemon: If you could tell us how much scholarship have you recieved, it will help us greatly..:)..

I received CAD2,000, which isn't a whole lot, but was better than nothing for an international. I got it because I achieved a certain GPA in grade 12 (as an international student), but it was also given for high IB grades too. That was for UBC.

What was the GPa you achieved and what if the applicants school doesnt give GPA.

Look on the websites for the universities you're interested in; they will list scholarship amounts there. However, generally, Canadian universities give very little aid to international students, other than the entrance scholarships you can achieve for academic distinctions.

I ve done that but they dont give that much information. What I want is a student of one to advise me.

There are very few scholarships (Like merit based) and I haven't seen (By far) ANY scholarship/aid exceeding CAD3,000-5,000..I think this will do..

issacnewton is right, there are few scholarships that go beyond CAD5,000.

My top four B.C. provincial course scores averaged 91%. UBC gave out $500 for 88%-90%, $2,000 for 90-95%, and $4,000 for 95%+. With the IB, a score of I think 35 or better would get you the 95%. You can check www.ubc.ca for more information.
