For example, will they think I'm taking on an easier workload if I am taking AP Psych and AP Human Geo rather than AP Bio and AP Calc?

bump 10char.

I’m pretty sure they do because on a lot of college tours they brought up knows Calc was harder than Stat, Chem and Physics harder than Bio, etc. and wanting us to take the harder ones

bumpp 10 char.

Yes, of course they do. And yes, Human Geog and Psych are a whole lot lighter than Calc and Bio.

what about art history
i know it’s percieved to be one of the easier aps, but it’s actually really hard

I’ve heard some of the AP classes referred to as JV-AP. The same person said that often colleges are looking for a series of progressively harder classes that cap off with AP. The person who made the comment was a college counselor for what is considered the top boys’ prep school in Baltimore, so I am guessing that he had seen kids be accepted to the top schools.

^ I’ve also heard of some AP classes called “AP-lite” such as AB instead of BC.

I think colleges do put the the difficulty of the AP in the “rigor of courseload” category.

If you are a sophomore, you could always take the more difficutl APs in your junior or senior years.

many schools do not even look at ap geography. AT USC they do not even give you credit for a 3 on an ap exam and do not count geography
