Do Colleges Care If I Take a "No Class" Senior Year?

I was wondering if colleges care if you take a “no class” for one period in your senior year. In my high school, there are six periods and I have enough credits to take a no class for the sixth period of my senior year next year. I have taken AP/honors classes before, including this year, which is my junior year. Next year, I plan on taking 4 AP’s and another class plus a “no class” in my sixth period. So my question is, with the AP/honors classes I have taken and will take, will a “no class” for one period affect how colleges look at me for admissions?

Depends on the college but generally shouldn’t be a problem. More competitive colleges look at “academic rigor” as an important factor. If you’re taking hard classes then they will frown less on a free period. But your rigor will be lower than if you took another AP. Still though, GPA is generally the more important factor and if a free period helps with that then it may be worth it.
