<p>^^ Probably not. Most colleges trust that student’s are telling them the truth about their EC’s, so EC’s and jobs are on the honor system . . . until something doesn’t add up. For example, in this video a retired Stanford AO demonstrates how a student seems to have padded their EC’s. In this case, there’s no need to contact someone:

<p>Some colleges do. The UC system in CA, for example, randomly selects about 10-15% of the applicants and will require them to verify an EC of the UC’s choice.</p>
<p>^ Agree. I do read somewhere that the school would randomly check the information even after admission.</p>
<p>I think ECs are honor system based, but if one gets caught cheating, the consequences are severe (I heard a rumor of someone in my area who had all his admissions rescinded and had to take an involuntary gap year).</p>
