Do colleges classes in high school count towards college GPA

I will be attending George Washington next year and during this past senior, i have taken two classes at an elite liberal arts school. First semester, I received an A in my class. Second semester, I started off real strong but as senioritis sets in, I paid less and less attention in the class. After receiving a 96 on the first exam, I have sinced dropped my next two to a 79 and a 70. Nevertheless, my grade is still a 91. My final is next Wed. and I am very nervous. Since I haven't really paid attention, the best I will probably get is an 85 or so. My final grade will likely be in the B range.

My problem is I don't want this I on my college GPA; who wants to start college without even the opportunity to get a 4.0? Will this count towards my GPA? Worst comes to worst and I get in the B range for my second semester class, can I just give GW my first semester grade and count that towards credit? Thanks for the help.

This will depend on many factors that are up to the college you attend. Simply, you will be given credit for the course. If the college keeps the grade, then yes, it will go into your GPA. If they just give you the credit but not a grade, then no. You can ask your college for specifics.

Well the easiest way to avoid this from going towards your college GPA is simply don’t transfer the credit and therefore your college will have no way of knowing that you took the course. Some colleges also don’t put HS grades even if they were taken at the college level. This varies from school to school so you should directly contact the college you will be attending or look on their website.
