I’m a junior, and I’m currently taking nine classes (crazy, I know!). 2 of my classes (jazz band and choir) are 0 and 7th periods, and the rest are AP Spanish, AP Calc AB, AP English Language, Wind Ensemble, Journalism, US History, and Physics. Because I’m taking so many classes, my GPA is pretty low, even though I earn A’s in all my subjects. I was wondering if colleges will take into consideration my busy schedule from so many classes, even though my GPA isn’t too high. Thank you so much!
They’ll look at your AP Scores if you submit them and your GPA. In all honesty, it doesn’t matter how hard the classes you take are if you end up with a 2.0 GPA or a 3.5 GPA because at the end of the day admissions is a numbers game + personal letter + extracurricular activities.
You’re telling colleges you make poor decisions. Overload classes, avg grades = poor judgment.
GPA is the most important factor. Shrink the number of classes and improve your GPA next semester. Good luck finishing up this semester too
How is your GPA low if you “earn A’s in all subjects”? If the weighted GPA is lower than people who don’t take non-weighted music classes then I would not worry.
